How to design a tablet package to prevent drugs from getting damp

it is well known that it communicates through the serial port (COM number) on the back of the computer. No matter whether the unused parts and appliances are new chemical drugs or traditional drugs such as aspirin, they are easy to get damp. Therefore, scientists have come up with various ways to protect drugs when preparing solid preparations with this kind of damp prone drugs

now there is a new type of rapidly decomposable tablet coating film that can block moisture for drugs. This new coating has a longer shelf life than the traditional coating film components, and the cost has hardly increased

we can obtain moisture-proof effect by using low permeability polymer film-forming agents such as PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) polymer or dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate. However, one of the disadvantages of these polymers is that they are viscous and uneven, which makes their application more difficult

most of the recently developed transplanted PVA polymers have the advantages of PVA and avoid the inconvenience in application. However, this polymer has no monograph in the United States Pharmacopoeia, which will limit its application. One of our main contributions to this is the simple and effective way to block moisture through the creative game experience we bring to children, which is to use a hydrophobic component in the film-forming component. The hydrophobicity of stearic acid has been discovered many years ago

sepifilm LP (low permeability) produced by SEPPIC company is an easy to operate coating component based on HPMC (hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose or hypromellose), MCC (microcrystalline cellulose) and stearic acid. If only stearic acid and HPMC are used instead of MCC, the products produced will not form a good coating film. MCC is a kind of filler, which can better disperse the solid components in the product, and MCC will not increase the viscosity of the product

traditional coating will cause a gap between the tablet core and the coating layer (Fig. 1). MCC can enhance the adhesion between the film coating and the core. Most tablet formulations contain MCC, which will improve the compatibility between the film coating and the coating layer. The coating effect of concave convex trademark pattern is good, and there is little bridging phenomenon (the tablet film coating crosses over the notch, such as bridging, and all patterns or words are covered) (Fig. 2)

this coating component has a relatively low water evaporation rate (vtr:vapor transmission rate) than other polymer based coating films (Figure 3). The VTR of HPMC based coating with polyethylene glycol 400 as plasticizer is 0.8 mg/h/m

the VTR of transparent sepifilm LP is 0.5 mg/h/m. The VTR of white and color sepifilm LP is 0.6 mg/h/m, which is because the existence of pigment in the coating layer increases its gap, resulting in an increase in VTR value. We have made a comparative experiment between PVA based coating film and sepifilm LP on tablets containing muscle sustained-release ingredient tetrazepam. Under the action of oxygen and water, this mixture will undergo chemical degradation. We tested the degradation level of one of the substances in the general ICH environment without any packaging (open disk) for 4 months. The tablets coated with sepifilm LP showed excellent stability. The concentration of degraded substances was 40% lower than that of uncoated tablets (Fig. 4)

sepifilm LP is also applicable to hygroscopic formulas, usually multivitamins or herbal tablets. This coating agent can also be used for healthy food, because all ingredients of the product meet FDA standards

in addition to the efficacy features, sepifilm LP is also very convenient to use. Through the granulation process (Figure 5), the granular sepifilm LP is easy to flow and free of dust. The hydration process of small particles is very fast, and there is no caking phenomenon during the injection of sepiflim LP into water (there is no "fish eye" phenomenon). Due to the reduction of production time (without waiting time for dissolution), microbial pollution can be avoided, and the use of defoaming ingredients such as silicone oil, which have tasted the sweetness before the base enterprise is officially put into production, the production of foam becomes very limited

the parameters of this coating agent are very similar to those of the normal orbit HPMC coating agent. If alcohol/water is used as solvent (the proportion of alcohol is up to 80%), side ventilated coating machine or traditional coating machine can be used. The tablet temperature must be controlled below 40 ℃, and the temperature of the injected air should be controlled at 55-60 ℃ to avoid the melting of stearic acid
